Maltaese Pleaser
As the “Diamond in the Mediterranean” we are incredibly excited to have finally added Malta as a destination into our WWR schedule. The island boasts superb 30m+ visability all year round and a rugged adventurous underwater landscape strewn with caves and swim throughs …
This trip will touch down in Malta but then move immediately (via ferry) to the smaller Maltese island of Gozo. Once we’ve unpacked we can get ready for a great weeks adventure, without a boat in sight (well 90% ish of the time) as Gozo is a Jeep-Diving destination …

The diving off Gozo is almost entirely shore based, with opportunities to complete superb and easily accessible cave and cavern dives, such as Ulysses Cave; Qala Dolf Cave and The Blue Dome, all with magical views of bight sunlight illuminating the clear blue water through overhead openings and masses of sponges and other such inhabitants. If its metal you’re into the Gozo is also great, as thanks to her location during the second world war there’s plenty of it around, and even if thats not enough the Maltese government have an active artificial reef programme. The latest wrecks added to Gozo’s list are the MV Cominoland and MV Karwela, which both offer a great chance to do a “proper” wreck dive in crystal clear visability …
The locals looking to make it onto your cameras on this trip will include groupers, amberjack, various bream, octopi (and normally lots of them !), squid, cuttle fish, flying fish, gurnard, stingrays, meagre, bogue, red mullet and parrot fish. These will all be against a superbly colourful backdrop of corals and sponges …
Our accommodation on this trip will be The Grand Hotel in Mgarr. The hotel has 57 air-conditioned en-suite rooms, with mini-bar and TV; swimming pool; two restaurants; gym; cocktail bar, and of course our on site Dive centre hosts for the trip …
Our diving partner for the week will be Extra Dive, and with many years of experience they will ensure that all of our day (or night) jeep-dives are absolutly superb !
