Scuba Professional Scholarship Terms

The Scuba Professional Scholarship is a operated as a scheme by the Scuba + Outdoor Pursuits Centre, which in turn is a Trading Identity of Cannock Scuba Centre Ltd. The full Terms and Conditions of the Scuba Professional Scholarship are noted below, however the right is reserved to add to these terms, or withdraw the scholarship scheme at any time. Any individual entering the Scuba Professional Scholarship or applying to be entered in the deliberation process or subsequently bwing awarded the Scuba Professional Scholarship prize is deemed to have read and agreed the following terms in full.

1. The Scuba Professional Scholarship (refered to as SPS) is a free to enter competition, with a single prize award on offer. There are no awards for any individuals other than the single winner.

2. The SPS is open for applications from June 14th 2011, with the closing date for applications being Midnight on 7th October 2011. Any applicants received after the closing date will not be eligible for entry into the SPS deliberation process. The winner shall be announced at the Birmingham Dive Show in October 2011.

3. The SPS PADI Training Package Prize Award includes:- One each of PADI Open Water Diver Programme; PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Programme; Emergency First Response (Primary and Secondary Care) Programme; PADI Rescue Diver Programme; PADI Divemaster Programme; Emergenxy First Response (Child) Programme; Emergency First Response Instructor Programme; PADI Assistant Instructor Programme; PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Programme.

4. The SPS Beuchat Prize Award includes:- One each of Beuchat VR200 Evolution Regulator; VRT Iceberg Octopus; Mini Combo 2 Gauge; Masterlift BCD (X Air Light or Lady version); Focea Comfort 3 Wetsuit; Focea Comfort 3 Shorty; Focea Comfort 3 Hood; Power Jet Fins(Pair); Booties; Elaskin Gloves; X-Contact 2 Mask; Activa Dry Purge Snorkel; Air Light Bag; and Voyager Computer.

5. The SPS PADI Materials Prize Award includes:- One each of PADI Open Water Diver Crew Pack (Computer Version); Open Water Diver DVD; Adventures in Diving Crew Pack; Emergency First Response (Primary and Secondary) Crew Pack; Emergency First Response (Primary and Secondary) DVD; PADI Rescue Diver Crew Pack; PADI Rescue Diver DVD; PADI Divemaster Crew Pack; Emergency First Response Manual (Child); Emergency First Response Instructor Manual; Instructor Development Crew Pack.

6. The SPS Sport Diver Subscription Prize Award includes:- A single twelve month subscription to Sport Diver Magazine, commencing in the January immediatly after the winner has been notified.

7. There is no cash alternative to any of the prize awards within the SPS.

8. All PADI training is provided by SCUBApursuits within the UK as part of their standard Training Schedule, and as such the SPS winner is expected to attend all scheduled and agreed training dates from within the dates contained within this scheudle. Failure to attend scheduled training sessions on more than a single occassion may result in dissmissal from the SPS.

9. Dismissal from the SPS, for whatever reason, prior to final completion as a fully qualified PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor will result in the winner being required to return all elements of the SPS Prize Award. Failure to return any of these items upon request shall result in legal action being taken to recover costs.

10. To be eligible for inclusion in the SPS deliberation process applicants must apply via the published eMail address or in writting to the Scuba Professional Scholarship, c/o Scuba + Outdoor, Brindleys Business Park, Chaseside Drive, Cannock, WS11 7GD. No responsibility is accepted for enteries not received by the Award Panel due to whatever reason.

11. The winner of the SPS shall be selected by the SPS Award Panel, by whatever criteria they see fit. The Award Panel shall be made up of a representive from each of the SPS Sponsers listed above along with a representative from the organisers. The decision of the Award Panel shall be final and no communiactions entered into.

12. The winner must be available to receive their SPS Award at the Birmingham Dive Show 2011.

13. The winner is expected to participate in any amount of reasonable Promotional Activites during the SPS training period and for a further twelve months after qualifying as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (or highest level they achieve on completion). Promotional Activities during this period shall include, but not be limited to, a Monthly Diary Update and regular Photo Updates.

14. On winning the SPS the notified individual (winner) shall be issued their SPS Prize Awards on a staggerd basis. Initial award will be limited to PADI Open Water Crew Pack, PADI Open Water DVD, Beuchat X-Contact 2 Mask; Beuchat Activa Dry Purge Snorkel; Beuchat Booties; Beuchat Power Jet Fins and Focea Comfort 3 Shorty. The balance of the Beuchat Scuba Gear Award shall be made prior to the commencement of the qualifying dives for the PADI Open Water Diver programme. The balance of PADI Training Materials shall be issued individually on scheudling of the subsequent levels. Rights to adjust the timetable of issuing SPS Prize Awards is reserved.

15. The winner of the SPS Award is responsible for the safeguarding and maintainence of all Scuba Equipment and PADI Training Materials contained within the Prize Award for a period of no less than 24 months from issue. Within this time the winner may not pass on or sell any of the Prize Award items, and any such action shall result in immediate dissmissal from the SPS. In addition the SPS winner is expected to use exclusively the equipment brand and training materials awarded througout the duration of their SPS, exception being where a specific item was not awarded. Again failure to adhere to this shall result in dismissal from the SPS.

16. The SPS Prize Award does not include PADI Certifciation Fees, PADI Professional Application or Registration Fees; PADI Examination Fees; Dive Site Admissions; Accomodation; Personal Insurance; Food; Travel or any other items not listed within the Prize Award details.

17. There is no agreement to provide employment or to assist in the securing of employment on completion of the SPS.

18. Where the winner opts to withdraw from the SPS at any point after commencement prior to final completion as a fully qualified PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor the winner will be required to return all elements of the SPS Prize Award. Failure to return any of these items upon request shall result in legal action being taken to recover costs.

19. Applicants must be 18 or over, and UK residents in order to enter the SPS competition. Applicants must also be physically fit to dive, and this includes the ability to pass a full HSE Diving Medical. Failure to provide a satisfactory HSE Medical, on request, for Profesional Level modules shall result in dismissal from the SPS.

20. Where the winner has already gained various PADI Training Qualifications contained within the SPS Prize Award these shall be verified via the PADI Dive Check system and accepted as pre-completion of the level in question. There shall be no Cash Alternative or other return against the levels not completed. In addition where a level is not completed the related PADI Materials shall not be issued and removed from the SPS Prize Award.

21. Standard Terms and Conditions apply and Management Decsision is Final in all cases.

22. Employees of anySPS Sponsor Organisation, existing SCUBApursuits Training Team Members and their Family, and other individuals currently employed within the Scuba Industry may not be considered for the SPS. Where an individual is found to fall into one of these categories they shall be dismissed from the SPS.

23. The SPS winner is expected to adhear to all policies and procedures laid out within SCUBApursuits Training Team documenation, when commencing and participating in PADI Professional level training. Failure to adhere to these polices and procedures, or any actions deemed to bring the organisation into disripute will result in immediate dismissal from the SPS.

24. The organisers and sponsors accept no liability for any incidental loss, beyond their contractual obligations laid out above, and reserve the right to withdraw the SPS at any point prior to final winner notification.
