Navigation Diver

It goes without saying that you’ll enjoy your diving much more if you actually know where you’re going, either because you will be more relaxed and confident or simply because you’ll find what you were actually looking for. The PADI Navigation Speciality will continue on from the very basic skills you practised on your Open Water Programme and help you develop them into a powerful and useful set of underwater navigational tools.

It is always awe inspiring whenever you follow a resort Divemaster and they effortlessly happe upon every single reef and point of interest that they are intending to show you, its almost magical. Well its not black magic its just using the skills they learned a while earlier on their own PADI Navigation Speciality, in conjunction with a good underwater compass. Its simple really, as a compass never lies, and when used with skill it will allow you to always swim straoght and true to (and from) any site you are aiming to discover.

Your PADI Navigation Speciality is delivered in the same form as many of our PADI Speciality programmes, with minimal or no classroom time. You will complete the majority of your academic elements prior to attending your programme, and these will be reviewed on dive site by your instructor prior to the dive elements commencing. Once you move to the dive brief and dive stages of your programme you will lear how to Plan your Navigation; Identify Hazards; Estimate Distance; Compensate for Currents; Utilise Underwater Navigation Search Patterns; Relocate Dive Sites; Effectively use the PADI Navfinder; and of course how to accuratly employ your Compass to Navigate Underwater.

On satisfactory completion of this programme you will be awarded the PADI Navigation Diver speciality certfication , and have developed the most useful set of general diving skills you will ever use.
