Adventures In Diving
Ok so now if you’re looking at these pages you have already begun your own personal Underwater Journey of discovery, and no doubt already witnessed a host of amazing new sights and sounds. Yes you have already become one of the select few Underwater Adventurers out there, but now its time to build on your experiences and increase your independence and confidence in the water.
When you completed your PADI Open Water Diver course you had already acquired all the skills and information you need to be a safe and competent diver, but as with any new skills practise really does make perfect. We know and you know you can do it, but we also know that it’s a very daunting prospect to simply go it alone and jump right in. This is where the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course can help, it is specifically designed to help develop your confidence in your own abilities and avoid the stress of having to go it alone quite so soon whilst also introducing you to many new areas of Scuba Diving itself.

Our PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is designed to fit immediately after completion of your PADI Open Water Diver Course, or at any time thereafter. It’s aim is to ease you more gently into non-instructional diving, letting you make your own decisions and plans. Of course under the supervision and guidance of our Training Team, you are safe in the knowledge that you will be getting it right.
We offer this course throughout the year, pulling together divers from across the Midlands, from all our training venues. The course is generally offered at Stoney Cove, the National Inland Diving Centre, and run over a two day period. On completion of the course you will be qualified to dive any where around the world, in conditions equal to or better than those in which you trained, to a recommended maximum depth of 30m (21m Junior Advanced Open Water Divers) and an absolute maximum of 40m without the need for Instructor supervision. This will then open up a whole new area of diving for you, including spectacular wrecks and larger more majestic ocean going inhabitants.
The course includes 5 dives, all aimed at introducing and perfecting extra skills that you may need, whilst also allowing you to plan and conduct your own real dives. A deep dive and navigation dive are compulsory, however the remaining dives can be elected from almost any topic you would like. Elective dives include Wreck Dive; Naturalist Dive; Multi-level Dive; Photography Dive; Search and Recovery Dive; Peak Performance Buoyancy and Drysuit Dive. To eliminate all classroom sessions each of your dives and the relevant information relating to it is covered in your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual, meaning you can again use a self study approach to bring your knowledge up to speed. Once on dive site this is a truly hands on course, after briefly reviewing your Dive Knowledge its time to go over the dive brief and then simply go and continue your Adventures.
Throughout the course you will be trained directly by our own World Class Training Team, in the highest quality and expertly maintained equipment, even including Drysuits for your Open Water Dives. However as you are now a fully fledged Scuba Diver in your own right you will need to be appropriately equipped with Dive Watch and Dive Knife.
There you go the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course, and all the confidence and experience that is gained along with it, is available for you right now. Our Training Team are here and waiting, simply give us a call or send us a line and we can get you back into the water and help you continue along your own personal underwater journey.
