This year, more than
ever before, we have been inundated with returning PADI Scuba
Divers, fresh faced and raring to get going with the remainder of
their programme. The number of divers looking to upgrade their
qualification to the full
PADI Open Water Diver
rating this year has even surprised us after 12 years in the
business and that’s almost an impossibility.
So why are you all
rushing to upgrade to full
PADI Open Water? Well firstly and
of course mostly, because its FUN, and that’s what its all about,
well that and the chance to explore and discover, what’s really out
there under the surface.

As a PADI Scuba
Diver you are somewhat limited, by having to always dive with a PADI
Pro, so this restricts the amount of "FREE" adventuring you can do
when you are out there next time. Why is that important ? Well
whenever you’re diving, even as part of a group, its always nice to
be able to drift a little farther away from the hustle and bustle of
the main party, even if only a little way – just to get that peace
and quiet that its all about – Oh and of course if there’s less
divers, there's always more fish.
The Scuba Diver
course you have completed is simply the first half of the PADI Open
Water Diver programme. So all you need to do now, to upgrade, is
simply complete the final half of your programme. Its that simple,
and of course its going to give you the chance to meet a whole load
of other local divers; get involved with our club; find out about
equipment and generally carry on the fun.

OK but down to
your own programme, the PADI Scuba Diver Completion, is your first
step towards independence. On completion it will have given you the
confidence, experience and qualification to dive to a maximum depth
of 18m, pretty much anywhere around the world, without the need for
a PADI Pro to be sat on your every move.
The course
structure is made as easy to follow as possible. We simply enrol you
onto one of our regular PADI Open Water Diver Programmes, but only
for weeks 4, 5 and 6 (as you have already completed modules 1 - 3).
These sessions will be built up of several core components, Self
Study; Classroom and Pool. Once we have completed these, and both
our training team and you are happy to continue we move to complete
your final two open water dives. These again will be the second two
of the four dives, as you have already completed those during your
PADI Scuba Diver course.
To paint the
picture, in simple terms PADI Open Water Diver Module # 4 will
require you to complete your self study section, via Manual and DVD
at home, prior to attending that weeks session. At the session you
will complete the classroom review of that information before moving
through to the pool, and then in the pool you will observe; practise
and perfect small segments of all the required skills, to keep you
safe and sound once qualified. This process will continue for
the next 2 weeks, and then at the end of the programme, the whole
group will go to the open water venue to simply demonstrate all
those already perfected skills in a real environment, and of course
go exploring and have some fun !
If it sounds like you do want to
keep the fun and adventure going, and you do want to upgrade your
PADI Scuba Diver qualification to full
PADI Open Water Diver then
all you need to do is
give us a call (or e-mail / pop in
/ carrier pigeon).
We currently have venues
throughout the Midlands and Staffordshire, so come along and join us
on the PADI Scuba Diver Completion Programme. |
