It’s almost the start of another great and hopefully sunny scuba season here in the UK, and of course that means only one thing … Its time to dig out your scuba gear from its deep dark winter storage hole and of course make sure its working properly, after all it is quite literally Life Support Equipment isn’t it ?!?

Why a great big WARNING sign ? Well that’s simple … we want to make sure you and your equipment are as SAFE as possible, after all, that equipment you are reliying on down there really is Life Support equipment.

So how do you make sure you are as SAFE as possible when the season starts ???

1. Always make sure you’re equipment is in full working order, and serviced within manufacturer timeframes.
2. Only ever have your equipment serviced at a Manufacturer Approved Technical Service Centre.
3. Make sure your equipment only ever has genuine brand specific parts fitted to it.
4. Ensure your equipment is tuned and serviced in line with the latest manufacturer guidelines.
5. Only ever dive within your own and your buddies personal and qualification limitations.

Ok, so the actual diving part is down to you,but how can you make sure you tick the SAFETY boxes for points 1 – 4 well that’s simple … You should only ever have your Scuba Equipment serviced by a Manufacturer Approved Technical Service Centre … Yes before you ask there are some centres out there that are servicing equipment that are NOT manufacturer approved, and they may not actually tell you that until its too late.

So why use a Manufacturer Approved Technical Service Centre ? Well with the highly sophisticated equipment designs that are becoming the norm in all scuba brands the necessity of having only genuine manufacturer approved parts fitted, to ensure safe reliable performance, is of absolute paramount importance. Along with this you must consider that only the approved service centres receive the latest and most up to date bulletins on safety updates and refined service procedures. Of course, and not least, it is a requirement of your manufacturer warranty that only an approved Manufacturer Approved Technical Service Centre services your equipment, otherwise you may invalidate any future warranty cover.

So the message is simple, please, please, please do make sure that your equipment is only ever serviced by a fully Manufacturer Approved Technical Service Centre, after all it really is LIFE SUPPORT EQUIPMENT isn’t it !?!
