Without any further ado, a BIG Thanks to all of you that supported us at the Birmingham Dive Show this year, along with many of the other key retail stores, such as SDS Watersports and Deep Blue Diving. We really were surprised at how many familiar faces (and new faces) that came to along to get their hands on some of the great deals.

The Birmingham Dive Show has grown from strength to strength for us, over the last few years, and has enabled us to spread the word and share our great deals far and wide, to divers from all around the UK. This year our Scubapro and Apeks deals went down a storm, with us all but selling out on the first day. We were grateful for all your generous feedback, with many of you passing comment that we were “the most friendly and helpful stall in the hall”, so a big thanks for that.

We of course couldn’t just go home afterwards, and simply sitting and having a quiet beer is not our style. So a post Birmingham Dive Show report would not be complete without passing comment on our Dive Show Rubber Challenge.

With the cream of the UK Scuba Industry sat no more than a few feet apart, tensions were high, and there was much jostling for position. Arthur from SDS Watersports looked tense, Jon-Paul from Deep Blue looked pensive, and our own Mark from Scuba + Outdoor simply looked miserable (as normal). So there was of course only one thing to do, initiate a silly competition. After a quick £2 deposit in the special machine in the gents, and much cajoling we had our volunteers. To save the censors, and younger eyes from being embarrassed, we’ll leave the rest to your imagination. Suffice to say it was the first to blow it and pop it that won, so congratulations to Pepe from Deep Blue.

All in all it was a great Birmingham Dive Show, and of course superb launch platform for our new online Scuba Superstore, DIVEpursuits.com. No matter what you call it, as the new internet player we are certain that for Scuba Packages, Scuba Equipment, Dive Gear and Dive Kit, we are going to make sure there is only one winner, and that’s you !
