The 2005 (70's) Christmas Bash
Ho Ho Ho … well that’s
probably what the big lad himself would say if he saw this lot lined
up for their presents !
 It
was the 10th December 2005, but you would have to check
the calendar and pinch yourself to be sure … there hasn’t been this
much Afro Hair; Platform Shoes and Nylon around since the last
Starsky ‘n’ Hutch convention.
No …
seriously this was an evening of serious “cheese”, and no matter
what the age from nipper to granddad the whole gang entered into the
spirit …
The cross dressing
title of course (without a shadow of a doubt) goes to Phil and Lee,
or was it Lucy and Suzie … by the end of the night I’m not even sure
if they knew. The only problem of course, besides looking at Phil’s
hairy legs, was the non-stop moaning on the day after, about
blisters and swollen ankles, but those ladies do suffer for their
fashion …
 Other
popular outfits, besides my own little lycra catsuit and platforms,
included the ‘Pimp n ###’ routine, perfected by Sarah and Steve; and
of course the famous seventies cop routine, and I’m pretty sure that
Steph had the biggest gun out of this lot. It would of course be a
crime not to mention Martins Ozzy, or was it in actual fact Julian
Clary, outfit …
 A
big round of applause goes out to Dan, who disguised himself that
well that it was two days later before I worked out who was actually
behind the moustache …
Anyway, another great
night had by all, and no doubt when Ben gets his photos developed
for his post Christmas holiday school essay, we will all be sent for
some sort of mental therapy !

Oh
what fun seeing all those poor hung-over heads being tossed and
bounced as they fought to stay on the giant inflatable, at the Crazy
Christmas Pool Night !
As
you would expect the centre management did have to issue a few
cautions and warnings, to the adults of course, not the kids. It
seems we have an over active bunch of divers, the kids barely got a
look in. However when they did get onbard, it was clear that your
sense of balance declines with age, because at least they could get
from one side to the other without falling off …
It
wouldn’t be fair to not mention the best performances of the
evening, these being from Stuart; Mozza and Roger. Stuart for sheer
persistence and dogged determination to defend the middle position;
Mozza for his artistic demonstration of throwing yourself off the
top in to the water and of course Roger for (well what can we say)
falling off more times than we thought humanly possible.
