Diving Review -
Stoney Cove - Leicester - January
2008
The air was
cold and fresh, but the smiles were big. The Dive Club had visited
Stoney Cove before and always had good dives, and with hopes high
for good Vis from the Dive Club members we stood round and discussed
what every one would like to see. A walk was taken down to the slip
way of Stoney Coves key side to assess the situation……. Clear but
cold! Click Here to read the full review. |

Diving Review -
Wastwater - Lake District -
November 2007
If you don't know the
area, it's notoriously difficult to identify the right entry point
for “The Pinnacles” - the signature dive at this site. We picked an
entry point and decided to do two dives, one in each direction, to
guarantee finding the wall and pinnacles. Wastwater is famous for a
number of things. Including being England's deepest lake at 79
meters, it's alleged to be Britain's coldest & it's also famous for
the discovery of a murder victim – the so-called "lady in the lake".

Diving Weekend -
The Farne Islands - August 2007
It was the start of our Doing It
Weekend to The
Farne Islands.
The sun was just starting to rise over the harbour in
Seahouses
when the first divers started to appear just after 6am; ready for
their first days diving in the
Farne Islands. The day before had
been a long drive up, to The Farne Islands, but well worth the trip
for some fantastic diving.

Diving Review - Trefor Pier - Lake Vivian - July
2007
Ah well this one wasn’t quite
“according to plan”, with our
UK Shore Diving
definitely being beaten by Mother Nature again. As myself and
the rest of the Scuba + Outdoor Doing It Team arrived at
Trefor Pier, we were met by a mix
of facial expressions.....

Scuba Diving Weekend - St Abbs -
June 2007
After the massive success of the
Scuba
+ Outdoor Pursuits Centre - Doing It
Club Trip
to
Porthkerris, there was much
anticipation for the next instalment. The next of our Doing It
Club
adventures would see us heading off for some great
scuba
diving
off the North East Coast, close to the Scottish borders, at
St Abbs.

Diving Review -
Vivian Quarry - May 2007
Here it is, our rainy day “Doing It …” report
for May, and oh boy was it a rainy day this time, at
Vivian.
Yes you heard it right, Vivian,
not
Trefor Pier as planned.
Unfortunately due to the heavens and tides working against us we had
to push back & re-locate for this years second trip to Lake Vivian.

Scuba Diving
Review -
Babbacombe - April 2007
The brief for this one was a simple
one; once we had established that a UK Reef looks a little different
to a Red Sea one. They are of course, non the less impressive, and
always have loads of life to match. Finding the main reef at
Babbacombe is simple; because its right in the middle, and only
about 5m offshore (a fact that a few of us didn’t quite grasp!).

Diving Review -
Vivian Quarry - March 2007
Lake Vivian is situated
in the village of Llanberis in North Wales at the foothills of Mount
Snowdon. It was originally a slate quarry which finished working in
1958 and filled with water to form the dive site that is there
today.

Diving Trip -
NDAC - Chepstow- February 2007
The
NDAC in Chepstow operates a little differently to other inland
sites, in as much as you have to catch a minibus down to the water,
and entry is off floating pontoons, so its quite unique. This month
we ran a joint dive trip with our technical team from TechPursuits.

Scuba Diving Trip -
The Rez - Longsdon - January 2007
With a huge number of Doing It’ers jamming the
phone lines to all three Scuba + Outdoor Pursuits Centres, the trip
to The Rez filled up fast and with the power of numbers
we managed to get the management of The
Rez to close the whole site just for
us,
