Doing It Coastal 2011
As we are an island nation it would be silly not to explore our own hidden treasures around our coast, so from April to September we have our Doing It Coastal events. These have again been scheduled to be as simple as possible, allowing you to plan your whole summer season timings in one go. The Doing It Coastal events are always on the Last Sunday in the month.
Doing It Coastal Dive - Last Sunday in the Month
So once you’ve cut your teeth on the Doing It Local events (for newbies) or this is your second, third or hundredth season diving here in the UK its time to explore the amazing sights around the UK coastline. These Doing It Coastal events are always one day events, giving you the chance to complete two dives in the sea with the back up and support of our S+O Team around to help you out.
We have Hire Kit available for the dives (availability permitting) and a full set of kit including BCD, Regs, Cylinder, Fins, Mask, Weights and Semi Dry Suit costs Only £35 per day, or go for the Drysuit Full Kit Option* at Only £45 per day. Other, single, items are available aswell just contact your local S+O Centre for details. We’ll even take your gear along for you, so thats even easier again, as long as you’ve booked and paid for it in advance.
These are again FREE Doing It events and as the coast is not actually owned by anyone then there are normally no extra costs involved, other than gettign yourself there and your sarnies etc. We do however insist that you begin to get some of your own important Safety Items together for these dives. To attend these events you must have Surface Marker Buoy and Reel, Torch, Whistle and Knife or Scisors of your own. The guys in the three stores will happily give you all the advice you need on getting these bits together.
Although we have standardised the date, as the last Sunday in the month, we do have to leave the location variable to allow for weather and tide considerations nearer to the date in question. Once you have decided that you are coming along we would ask that you give us a call to get your name on the list, as we must pre-allocate staff for the event. The final destination information and timings will be circulated via the eNews system approx 7 days before the event.
Our experienced S+O Team are always on hand at these events to provide Surface and Safety Support, Dive Briefings, Buddy Allocation Assistance, General Banter and of course Go Diving with you if you wish. As the team are generally in the water on a Saturday they will normally drive to the event on the Sunday morning, however many of the club divers will find a local B&B and make it more leisurely with a Saturday night stay (other halves more than welcome too). Oh and yes before you ask, yes this ones a FREE Doing It event too :0)

Important:- As with all Doing It Diving Activities you MUST sign into the Operational Log for the event, agreeing Doing It Club Terms and confirming qualification levels, prior to comencing on any event. With this in mind you MUST always have your Certification Cards with you at all events (Inc Pools).
